Shipping policy

This page explains how delivery works for orders placed through nue-modern.com, including estimated timeframes, charges, VAT, and import duties for orders outside the UK. It should be read alongside our Terms and Conditions.

DELIVERY ESTIMATES

The delivery times shown on product pages and at checkout are estimates, based on the best information available to us at the time. They're not guaranteed delivery dates.

If you need delivery by a specific date, or have any special delivery requirements, please let us know in writing when you place your order — we'll do our best to accommodate this, though charges or conditions may change as a result.

If your order is significantly delayed beyond the estimate given, please get in touch. Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to cancel and receive a full refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

DELIVERY CHARGES

Delivery charges are generally based on the size and weight of the items ordered and your delivery address. For some products, UK delivery charges are instead based on order value, with free delivery above a certain threshold. You'll see the exact charge at checkout before you pay. Large items can carry significantly higher delivery charges than smaller ones — if you have any questions about a quote, get in touch and we'll do our best to help.

For multi-item orders, you'll only be charged one delivery fee, even if items are dispatched separately. We can only deliver to a full postal address — we're unable to ship to PO Boxes.

If a delivery attempt fails and a new attempt is needed, an additional delivery fee may apply.

VAT

All prices shown on the Website include UK VAT at the current rate. If you're ordering from outside the UK (including the EU), UK VAT doesn't apply to your order — but you may be liable for local VAT, customs duties, or similar taxes in your destination country. The courier or local customs authority will contact you directly about any charges due, which must usually be paid before your order can be delivered.

DELIVERY OF STANDARD ITEMS

Standard (in-stock) items are shipped directly from our suppliers and are typically dispatched within 5–7 working days of your order, with total delivery time usually 2–5 weeks. We'll send tracking details as soon as they're available.

This is a non-timed, kerbside delivery service. Please check the packaging as soon as it arrives — if you notice any damage or have an issue with your delivery, contact us at info@nue-modern.com and we'll help resolve it, including liaising with the courier on your behalf where needed.

DELIVERY OF MADE-TO-ORDER ITEMS

Made-to-Order and larger items are delivered via a freight forwarding service, with an estimated lead time of 12-14 weeks.

These deliveries are made to street level — the delivery team will bring your item to your front door, or the nearest accessible ground-floor entry point (such as a building lobby). For insurance and safety reasons, they're unable to carry items upstairs or into the property itself, and delivery doesn't include unpacking, assembly or installation. Please plan for this in advance.

You'll be given an estimated delivery date by the courier. Someone needs to be available to sign for the delivery — if nobody's available, the courier will return the item to their depot and you'll need to contact them to rearrange. If a redelivery attempt is needed, or the goods are returned to us as undelivered, an additional delivery fee may apply.

Before signing for the delivery: please check the packaging and photograph any visible external damage. If the item itself turns out to be damaged, let the driver know straight away, and keep all packaging — couriers generally need to inspect this to process a damage claim. Reporting damage promptly genuinely helps us resolve things quickly with the courier, but it doesn't affect your statutory rights to a repair, replacement or refund for faulty goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — see our Terms and Conditions for more on this.

CROSS BORDER DELIVERIES

Orders from outside the UK are considered exports which require additional processing and information. In some cases, an EORI is needed to get Goods through customs. We will inform you if you need to apply for one when submitting the customs declaration. An EORI number is issued by your local customs authority and is free.

IMPORT TAXES & DUTIES

Orders shipped outside the UK are sent on a Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU) basis — meaning our prices don't include any import duties or local taxes that may apply in your country. We're not able to calculate these in advance, as they're set by your destination country's customs authority and vary by location.

These charges must usually be paid before your order can be released to you. If they're not paid and the goods are returned to us, we may deduct our reasonable costs (such as return shipping, storage and insurance, capped at 20% of the order value) from any refund due. We'd recommend checking your country's import rules before ordering, as we're not able to take responsibility for costs incurred releasing goods from customs.
