Utrecht Armchair
Gerrit Rietveld Inspired
The Utrecht-inspired Armchair is early modernism at its most striking: an angular 1930s Dutch design whose bold geometric planes — canted back, wide flat arms, welted edges — compose a chair decades ahead of its time, and still ahead of most.
Inspired by the celebrated original, the design builds comfort from confident geometry: the deeply raked backrest and generous proportions deliver a genuinely relaxed sit inside the architectural silhouette, while the signature edge detailing traces every plane like a drawn outline.
A solid frame and firm, shaping foam hold the precise angles true, finished in tailored upholstery that shows the geometry cleanly.
Place it as a sculptural statement in living room or study, singly or in a facing pair. Ninety years old; permanently avant-garde.
We use premium fabrics and leather from European manufacturers. Explore our curated collection on our dedicated page here.
We also welcome COM enquiries from both private clients and designers.
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the size, weight, and destination of your order — we work hard to keep these as competitive as possible.
Larger items are shipped via pallet freight and delivered to kerbside — the courier will bring your order to your doorstep, garage, or the nearest accessible entrance point. Please note that for insurance reasons, couriers are unable to enter your home or assist with unloading and unpacking. We recommend having a helping hand ready on delivery day. Pallet freight services don't typically offer timed delivery slots or parcel-style tracking. An EORI number may be required for customs clearance.
EU and international orders may be subject to VAT or other local charges. These fees must be paid to release your goods from customs. We have no control over these charges and cannot predict or refund these amounts.
RETURNS
We want you to be happy with your purchase. If you need to return an item, it must be unused, in its original condition, and in the original packaging. Returns that don't meet these conditions may affect your eligibility for a full refund.
Please note that Made-to-Order items — those produced in a specific finish, colour, or fabric to your specifications — cannot be returned.
